Jan Marisse Huizing resigns from The International Holland Music Sessions

After having been associated for over 20 years with TIHMS, artistic director Jan Marisse Huizing has resigned from The International Holland Music Sessions.

Huizing was involved in TIHMS since 1989 - at first as a faculty member and artistic advisor and since 2002 until January 2010 as member of the faculty and artistic director.

Under his artistic leadership The International Holland Music Sessions started the highly succesful series of international concerts "New Masters on Tour", now taking place in more than 15 countries.

Also the annual Summer Academy has developed into a very successful starting point for violinists, cellists and pianists, leading many young instrumentalists to success at renowned international competitions and successful international careers.

In the future Huizing likes to spend more of his time on teaching and writing. His book on the Chopin Etudes was published in a German edition in October 2009 by Schott Verlag (Schott ED 8744).

A book on the Beethoven Sonatas is in preparation. Moreover Jan Marisse Huizing wants to be involved in the further development  of the International Lipatti-Haskil-Foundation (www.lipatti-haskil-foundation.com) of which he is the founder and president since 2004.
