TIHMS Summer Academy

Since 1988 lessons and master classes in combination with stage experience form the core of The International Holland Music Sessions (TIHMS).
During the Summer Academy a new generation of soloists is intensively supervised and coached by internationally renowned musicians and pedagogues. The classes, together with the public concerts taking place during the Summer Academy, may be the first step toward an invitation to perform in prestigious concert halls in the Netherlands as well as around the world.

De Poolse componist Witold Lutoslawski zou in 2013 honderd jaar geworden zijn. Een mooi moment om stil te staan bij zijn kamermuziek. De Russische cellist Anton Pavlovskiy, nog persoonlijk opgeleid door Mstislav Rostropovitsj, zet de Metamorphose van Lutoslawski in perspectief door het werk te confronteren met stukken van componisten die voor Lutoslawski belangrijk waren.
Na de pauze laat de Poolse violist Piotr Jasiurkowski, in Nederland opgeleid door Vadim Repin en Herman Krebbers, de geschiedenis van de Poolse muziek in een notendop horen en brengt hij Lutslawski in verband met zijn romantische voorganger Wieniawski en een van de meest vooraanstaande Poolse componisten van de eerste naoorlogse generatie, Krzystof Penderecki.
